Industrial SalesLeads today released its September 2026 planned capital project spending report for the Distribution and Supply Chain industry. New planned construction projects rose 22.7%, from 66 in August to 81 in September. The firm tracks planned industrial capital projects across North America, including facility expansions, new plant construction and major equipment modernization. In total, its research confirmed 188 new projects in the Distribution and Supply Chain sector this month.

Largest Planned Project

During the month of September, our research team identified 15 new Distribution and Supply Chain facility construction projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more.

The largest project is owned by Crucible Metals, who is planning to invest $7.4 billion for the construction of a 6.9 million sf processing, warehouse, and office complex at 1800 Zinc Plant Rd. in CLARKSVILLE, TN. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Completion is slated for 2029.

Top 10 Tracked Distribution and Supply Chain Project Opportunities

Georgia:

Global retail chain is planning to invest $1.3 billion for the construction of a 1.5 million sf distribution center in CARNESVILLE, GA. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in late Fall 2026.

 Georgia:

Tire mfr. is planning to invest $1.1 billion for the expansion and equipment upgrades on their manufacturing and warehouse facility in ROME, GA. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in 2027, with completion slated for 2033.

Mississippi:

Electrical equipment mfr. is planning to invest $528 million for the construction of a manufacturing and warehouse facility in GALLMAN, MS. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in late 2026, with completion slated for 2029.

California:

Department store chain is planning to invest $500 million for the construction of a 2 million sf distribution center in BAKERSFIELD, CA. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Completion is slated for 2032.

Oklahoma:

HVAC equipment mfr. is planning to invest $300 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a 1.3 million sf manufacturing and warehouse facility in OWASSO, OK. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

Virginia:

Maritime industrial services company is planning to invest $180 million for the expansion of their manufacturing, warehouse, and service complex in NEWPORT NEWS, VA by 48,000 sf. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

 North Carolina:

Door and window mfr. is planning to invest $120 million for the construction of a 580,000 sf manufacturing and warehouse facility in MOCKSVILLE, NC. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

Kentucky:

Automotive component mfr. is planning to invest $112 million for a 300,000 sf expansion and equipment upgrades on their two manufacturing and warehouse facilities in BEREA, KY. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

Georgia:

Battery material mfr. and recycling company is planning to invest $110 million for the construction of a processing, recycling, and warehouse facility in COMMERCE, GA. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

New York:

Supermarket chain is planning to invest $110 million for the construction of a distribution and cold storage facility in ROCHESTER, NY. They are currently seeking approval for the project and will consolidate their operations upon completion.
