    Largest Planned Industrial Construction Project

    During the month of April, our research team identified 9 new General Industrial facility construction projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more.

    The largest project is owned by Connectgen, who is planning to invest $500 million for the construction of a 500MW solar farm on a 1,300-acre site in LEON COUNTY, TX. Construction will occur in two phases. Construction is expected to start in early 2021, with completion of the first phase slated for Summer 2022.

     

    Top 10 Tracked Industrial Construction Projects 

    ALABAMA:

    Port Authority is investing $450 million and has recently started the third phase of an expansion at their container port terminal in MOBILE, AL.

     

    WISCONSIN:

    Electric utility company is investing $390 million for the construction of a 300MW solar farm in IOWA COUNTY, WI. Construction will occur in phases, with completion of phase 1 slated for April 2021.

     

    FLORIDA:

    Aerospace company is planning to invest $300 million for the construction of an office and manufacturing complex in MELBOURNE, FL. Construction is expected to start in late 2020, with completion slated for 2026.

     

    ILLINOIS:

    Global online retailer is investing $150 million for the construction of a 1 million sf distribution center in UNIVERSITY PARK, IL. Completion is slated for 2022.

     

    MASSACHUSETTS:

    Biotechnology company is planning to invest $200 million for the construction of a 416,000 sf warehouse, processing, and laboratory facility in PLAINVILLE, MA. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

     

    NORTH CAROLINA:

    Biotechnology company is investing $210 million for the construction of a 150,000 sf laboratory and processing facility in CLAYTON, NC. Completion is slated for 2022.

     

    NORTH DAKOTA:

    Oil and gas company is planning to invest $150 million for the construction of a natural gas processing facility in WILLISTON, ND. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

     

    CALIFORNIA:

    Biotechnology company is planning to invest $110 million for the construction of a 140,000 sf laboratory and processing facility in CARLSBAD, CA. They expect to open in Summer 2021.

     

    LOUISIANA:

    Rail yard operator is planning to invest $87 million for the construction of a 2 million sf warehouse and terminal in ST. GABRIEL, LA. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

     

    NEBRASKA:

    Specialty food products mfr. is planning to invest $60 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a processing facility in PAPILLION, NE. Completion is slated for late 2020.
