    Largest Planned Project 

    During the month of August, our research team identified 7 new Distribution facility construction projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more. 

    The largest project is owned by Amazon, who is planning to invest $400 million for the construction of a 3.8 million sf distribution center in DETROIT, MI. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in Fall 2020, with completion slated for Summer 2022.

    NORTH CAROLINA:

    Global shipping company is planning to invest $262 million for the construction of a warehouse at N.C. Commerce Park in MEBANE, NC. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

     

    NEW YORK:

    Economic development agency is planning to invest $320 million for the construction of a 500,000 sf film and television production complex in BROOKLYN, NY. They have recently received approval for the project.

     

    TENNESSEE:

    Paper and personal care products mfr. is planning to invest $300 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on their warehouse and manufacturing facility in KINGSPORT, TN. They have recently received approval for the project.

     

    GEORGIA:

    Furniture and mattress distributor is planning to invest $108 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a 973,000 sf manufacturing and distribution facility at 830 Highway 42 South in MCDONOUGH, GA. They expect to be operational in Spring 2021.

     

    ILLINOIS:

    Global online retailer is planning for the construction of a 575,000 sf distribution complex at 1400 S. Laramie Ave. in CICERO, IL. They have recently received approval for the project.

     

    KANSAS:

    Apparel and accessory retailer is planning for the construction of a 1-million sf distribution center at State Avenue and Speedway Boulevard in KANSAS CITY, KS. Construction is expected to start in Fall 2020.

     

    KENTUCKY:

    Discount retailer is planning to invest $65 million for the construction of a 630,000 sf distribution center in WALTON, KY. Construction is expected to start in Fall 2020. They plan to be operational in early 2021.

     

    MINNESOTA:

    Retail company is planning for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a recently acquired 400,000 sf warehouse and photo studio at 2600 and 2800 Winter Street NE in MINNEAPOLIS, MN.

     

    OHIO:

    Freight and logistics company is planning to invest $30 million for an expansion of their distribution facility at 6700 Port Road in COLUMBUS, OH. Completion is slated for Summer 2022.

     

    PENNSYLVANIA:

    Plastic recycling company is considering investing $100 million for the construction of a 300,000 sf warehouse and currently seeking a site in ERIE, PA.
