    Largest Planned Industrial Construction Project

    During the month of October, our research team identified 34 new General Industrial facility construction projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more.

    The largest project is owned by Micron Technology, Inc., who is planning to invest $100 billion for the construction of a manufacturing facility in CLAY, NY. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction will occur in multiple phases and is expected to begin in 2023.

     

    Top 10 Tracked Industrial Construction Projects

    OHIO:

    Automotive mfr. is planning to invest $3.5 billion for the construction of an EV battery manufacturing facility in JEFFERSONVILLE, OH. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in early 2023, with completion slated for late 2024.

    MICHIGAN:

    Battery mfr. is planning to invest $1.6 billion for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a recently leased 660,000 sf manufacturing facility at 42060 Ecorse Rd. in VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, MI. Completion is slated for 2024.

    CALIFORNIA:

    Rail transportation company is planning to invest $1.5 billion for the construction of a 4,500-acre intermodal facility and warehouse complex in BARSTOW, CA. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    OREGON:

    Battery component mfr. is considering investing $1.2 billion for the construction of a manufacturing facility and currently seeking a site in OREGON.

    VIRGINIA:

    Toy mfr. is planning to invest $1 billion for the construction of a 1.7 million sf manufacturing and warehouse facility at 1400 Meadowville Rd. in CHESTERFIELD, VA. The project includes the renovation of a warehouse and office facility at 1600 Ruffin Mill Rd.in SOUTH CHESTERFIELD, VA. Completion is slated for 2025.

    ALABAMA:

    Investment firm is planning to invest $600 million for the construction of a 1.7 million sf processing, distribution, and laboratory complex in MONTGOMERY, AL. They have recently received approval for the project. Completion is slated for 2025.

    MICHIGAN:

    Pharmaceutical company is planning to invest $500 million for the construction of a processing facility in STURGIS, MI. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    TENNESSEE:

    EV battery mfr. is planning to invest $500 million for the construction of a manufacturing facility in CLARKSVILLE, TN. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    NORTH DAKOTA:

    Metal producer is planning to invest $433 million for the construction of a processing facility in MERCER COUNTY, ND. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    GEORGIA:

    Cold storage warehousing and logistics company is planning to invest $333 million for the construction of a distribution center in MCDONOUGH, GA. They have recently received approval for the project.
