    Largest Planned Industrial Construction Project

    During the month of December, our research team identified 34 new General Industrial facility construction projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more.

    The largest project is owned by Powerco Canada Inc., who is planning to invest $5 billion for the construction of a manufacturing facility in ST. THOMAS, ON. They have recently received approval for the project. Completion is slated for 2027.

    Top 10 Tracked Industrial Construction Projects

    ARIZONA:

    Semiconductor mfr. is planning to invest $2 billion for the construction of a 500,000 sf manufacturing facility in PEORIA, AZ. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    BRITISH COLUMBIA:

    Methanol producer is planning to invest $2 billion for the construction of a processing facility in CHETWYND, BC. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    MANITOBA:

    Aviation fuel mfr. is planning to invest $1.9 billion for the construction of a processing facility in PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MB. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in 2025, with completion slated for 2027.

    ALBERTA:

    Clean energy solutions company is planning to invest $1.6 billion for the construction of an ammonia and methanol processing facility in STRATHCONA COUNTY, AB. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    MICHIGAN:

    Energy technology company is planning to invest $1 billion for the expansion and equipment upgrades at their nuclear power plant in COVERT, MI. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    TEXAS:

    Solar panel mfr. is planning to invest $1 billion for the construction of a manufacturing facility in BROOKSHIRE, TX. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Completion is slated for late 2024.

    KANSAS:

    Sustainable aviation fuel mfr. is planning to invest $900 million for the construction of a processing facility in CHERRYVALE, KS. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in early 2025, with completion slated for 2027.

    SOUTH CAROLINA:

    EV battery mfr. is planning to invest an additional $810 million for the expansion of their currently under-construction manufacturing facility in FLORENCE, SC. Completion is slated for 2026. 

    FLORIDA:

    Agricultural service provider is planning to invest $750 million for the construction of an 8 million sf growing and processing hydroponics farm in SANDERSON, FL. They have recently received approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in early 2024. 

    WISCONSIN:

    Agricultural co-operative is planning to invest $700 million for the construction of a process, storage, and warehouse complex in EVANSVILLE, WI. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in Spring 2024, with completion slated for 2026.
