Research from SalesLeads’ industrial market intelligence team identified 168 new planned Distribution and Supply Chain industry project opportunities in February. Activity within the sector grew 17 percent compared to January, signaling continued investment in warehouse and logistics infrastructure across the United States.

Largest Planned Projects

In February, SalesLeads tracked seven new distribution facility projects valued at $100 million or more. The largest was announced by Amazon, which plans to invest $295 million in a 645,000-square-foot distribution center in Bondurant, Iowa, slated for completion in summer 2021.

Top 10 Tracked Distribution and Supply Chain Project Opportunities

Texas
A global online retailer will invest $221 million to build a 3.4 million-square-foot distribution facility at 10507 Harlem Rd. in Richmond, TX. Completion is scheduled for late summer 2021.

Tennessee
A global shipping company plans to invest $217 million to build a 268,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility at 3675 Swinnea Rd. in Memphis, TN. Construction has been approved, with completion expected in early 2022.

Ohio
A real estate development firm will invest $150 million to build a 1 million-square-foot logistics park in North Baltimore, OH. The project is currently seeking approvals.

Indiana
An automobile manufacturer will invest $158 million in the expansion and equipment upgrades of its warehouse and manufacturing facility in Lafayette, IN. Construction is expected to begin in summer 2020.

Illinois
A candy and confectionery manufacturer will invest $100 million to construct a 2 million-square-foot distribution complex in DeKalb, IL, expected to open in spring 2021.

Kentucky
A distillery will invest $30 million in the construction of five new warehouses in Lebanon, KY, with approvals recently secured.

North Carolina
A beverage distributor will build a 228,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility at 4435 Beam Rd. in Charlotte, NC. The company plans to relocate operations once the site is complete in early 2021.

Nebraska
A food processing company will renovate and upgrade equipment at a recently acquired 535,000-square-foot distribution facility in Papillion, NE.

Virginia
A water heater manufacturer will invest $78 million in a 592,000-square-foot expansion and equipment upgrades at its warehouse and manufacturing facility at 3000 John Deere Road in Toano, VA. Approvals have been secured.

Colorado
A retail chain plans a 300,000-square-foot distribution facility in Aurora, CO, with an option to expand an additional 300,000 square feet in the future. The project is awaiting approvals.
